The Power of an Athlete Scholarship awards $10,000 scholarships to student-athletes across Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties who lead on and off the field.
This scholarship recognizes graduating seniors whose character, leadership, and community impact go beyond the scoreboard. Play Today. Lead Tomorrow.

HOW TO APPLY
Applications will be accepted through our online portal linked here. Due to the volume of applications, we are unable to provide individual feedback on proposals not selected for funding.

To be considered, applicants must:

Be a graduating high school senior
-
Reside in, and attend a high school in, Palm Beach County, Broward County, or Miami-Dade County
-
Actively participate in a school-sponsored sport
-
Plan to enroll in a two-year college, four-year college or university, or an accredited vocational/trade program
No financial need documentation is required to apply, though financial priority will go to those who demonstrate financial need.

Applicants will be asked to provide:

Basic information: full name, contact information, high school, graduating year, sport(s) played, and intended post-secondary path

Application questions: a reflection essay (250 to 650 words) on leadership, character, and community impact

One letter of recommendation (optional), from a coach, teacher, or community mentor who is not a relative

Acknowledgments confirming eligibility, understanding that no individual feedback is given on declined applications, and consent for TPOS to use application materials for internal review purposes
We recommend applicants draft their responses in a separate document before submitting, since the portal does not autosave.

By accepting this scholarship, winners agree to:

Attend The Power of an Athlete Scholarship Presentation Event, taking place in Spring 2027, to be determined

Confirm their college or training program enrollment (May 1 to June 1, 2027)

Participate in impact reporting: a brief reflection and progress check-in
-
Consent to being featured in donor/impact storytelling
Funds are disbursed directly to the recipient's institution (or, for vocational/trade paths without an institutional billing office, directly to the recipient under signed conditions) once enrollment is confirmed, timed to Fall 2027 start.
