THE POWER OF SPORTS GRANT
The Power of Sports Grant is designed to support nonprofit organizations that use sport as a
tool for meaningful impact. Whether through mental health initiatives, education programs,
gender equity efforts, or work that breaks down socioeconomic barriers, we aim to fund
programmatic efforts that use sports to change lives.
Selected organizations will receive program-specific grants of up to $25,000 to deepen their
impact, expand their reach, and increase access to the life-changing benefits of sport.
Applications are due by March 31, 2026 for consideration.

Applications will be accepted through our online portal linked here. Due to the volume of applications, we are unable to provide individual feedback on proposals not
selected for funding. In the meantime, inquiries can be directed to info@powerofsports.com
To be considered for The Power of Sports Grant, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Organizational Requirements

Be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, or operate under a qualified fiscal sponsor with appropriate documentation.

Demonstrate a commitment to equity, access, and empowerment through sport.

Submit all required documentation and reports according to the grant timeline.

Grant requests must not exceed 50% of the organization’s total annual operating budget.

Only one application may be submitted per organization.
Program Eligibility
-
Proposals must align with one or more of the Power of Sports Foundation’s funding pillars: Mental Health, Education, Female Advocacy, and Socioeconomic Accessibility.

Programs must use sport or athletics as a primary tool for impact.

Both new and existing programs are eligible, provided they are programmatic and community-serving.

National or multi-site organizations (e.g., Boys and Girls Club) may apply on behalf of a specific program, chapter, or initiative. Proposals must clearly define the geographic and community reach of the initiative.
Additional Notes
Organizations may reapply in future grant cycles, pending successful completion of all reporting requirements.
Eligible proposals must align with one or more of the following Power of Sports Pillars:

Ineligible initiatives
Grants may not be used for:

General operating expenses unrelated to the funded program

Salaries not directly tied to program implementation

Political advocacy or lobbying

Capital campaigns or infrastructure purchases

Regrants or donations to other organizations or individuals
This is a programmatic grant. Funds must be used for direct service, programming, or initiatives serving communities through sport.

The Power of Sports Foundation is committed to ensuring that the grant application process is accessible, clear, and efficient. To support this goal, the application is intentionally brief and focused, designed to make the submission process as clear and efficient as possible. The online application
must be completed in its entirety by March 31, 2026 for consideration. This includes, but is not limited to, the following open-ended responses: We recommend drafting your responses in a separate document before submitting.
Applicants will be asked to provide the following:

Organization Information: Name, address, website or social media, primary contact name, email, phone, year founded, mission statement (250 characters), and IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter. Indicate whether you’ve previously received funding from The Power of Sports Foundation.

Program Information: Program name, impact sector(s) (Mental Health, Education, Female Advocacy, Socioeconomic Accessibility), service area(s), program description (issue, community served, strategy), target population and unique needs, executive summary (500 characters), and any additional relevant context.

Budget & Funding: Operating budget, total project budget, funding amount requested, and a brief budget narrative outlining how funds will be used. Applicants may also upload supporting materials (budget breakdowns, testimonials, media, or letters of support).

Evaluation & Impact: How outcomes will be measured and documented; estimated numbers of people served, including population directly impacted, indirectly impacted, and total community reach.

Funds awarded by The Power of Sports Foundation must be used to support programmatic efforts that align with impacting the world positively through the power of sport. While applicants are not required to launch a new program, funded initiatives must demonstrate meaningful, measurable impact within one or more of our core pillars: Mental Health, Education, Female Advocacy, and Socioeconomic Accessibility.
The following requirements apply to all grantees:

Grant funds must be used for program-specific initiatives. Funding may not be used for general operating expenses, capital campaigns, or institutional overhead.

Grantees agree to submit a final grant report by June 30, 2027, including

A summary of how funds were used
-
Key outcomes and impact metrics
-
A basic breakdown of the program budget
-
A detailed grant report template will be provided to all organizations selected for funding.

Reports may be publicly shared to highlight the stories and successes of our grantee partners.

Grantees may also be asked to contribute media or storytelling assets (e.g., photos, quotes, testimonials, or videos) to help illustrate the reach and results of their work. These materials may be featured across Power of Sports Foundation platforms to inspire broader impact.
By accepting this grant, you join a community committed to advancing equity, access, and opportunity through sport, and agree to partner with us in celebrating and sharing that journey.
While this grant is for the 2026–2027 cycle, successful grantees may be invited to apply again in future cycles.
